How do I power my NMEA 2000 network?

← Back

NMEA 2000 networks are powered through Power Tee Cables and connectors. These are used to supply power to the NMEA 2000 backbone. They are 9-16VDC and can be used to either power the network from one end, or from the middle, depending on requirements.

All power supplies to NMEA 2000 networks must be correctly fused at the supply ends.

Mid power Tee pieces can be used for larger networks with more devices, as they can power the left and right branch independently, allowing for more voltage on the backbone on each side, as each device will have a voltage drop. Small networks can be powered from the end as voltage drop calculations usually are not necessary for a small network with a low number of devices.
