Multi-award winning NMEA specialists, Actisense, has been shortlisted in the national finals of the inaugural Small Awards in the best exporting business category.

Actisense in Poole, has been shortlisted to the finals of the first ever Small Awards. Established to recognise the achievements of small businesses across the UK, The Small Awards have selected Actisense as finalists in ‘Home and Away’ Best Exporting Business Award category.

Founded by CEO Phil Whitehurst in 1991, Actisense is a market-leading provider of marine electronics. Serving both the leisure and commercial marine markets, the Small Award nomination represents Actisense’s continued growth as a global distributor. Taking the brand across the world’s oceans, Actisense has built an extensive network of over 70 distributors in 40 countries, stretching from the US to New Zealand, Iceland to China and now all of mainland Europe.

The Small Awards will take place on 25th May in central London. It will include a black-tie dinner welcoming small businesses, experts and celebrities for an evening of networking, food, drink and music. Winners on the night will be announced by comedian and TV personality, Sue Perkins.

Chief Executive Officer, Phil Whitehurst said:

“We’re very proud be a finalist in The Small Awards. In the past few years, we’ve made huge progress towards growing our network of distributors around the world, creating new partnerships and business opportunities and we have lots of plans for further growth.

“In the meantime, we’re looking forward to joining leading businesses from around the UK, at the ceremony on 25th May.’’

Being shortlisted in the Small Awards is the latest in a list of achievements for Actisense.
