| Actisense, the leading marine electronics brand from Active Research has introduced a unique NMEA 2000 PC Interface to their product range.
The NGT-1-USB transfers NMEA 2000 messages to and from the NMEA 2000 bus, ensuring that the PC software receives the pure NMEA 2000 data with no translation.
The NGT-1-USB is designed to work with specialist PC software or with the Actisense configuration utility to configure all the Actisense products on an NMEA 2000 network.
As a standard option, the NGT-1-USB could be used with new NMEA 2000 chartplotter software that has been certified as compatible.
Additionally, a specialist ISO-Drive interfacing option of the NGT-1 is available.
The full galvanic 1500V isolation on both the input and output means the connected PC’s (or equivalent) serial port is protected. Full isolation is maintained between the PC (or equivalent) input and output and the NMEA 2000 CAN bus.
The firewall feature of the NGT-1 enforces the NMEA 2000 bus rules, enabling software vendors to create NMEA 2000 compliant software at a fraction of the direct certification costs. The supplied software interface (API) helps to reduce the development time required.
Actisense would like to hear from software vendors who are interested in incorporating the NGT-1-USB into their software.
