Actisense launch USB NMEA Multiplexer
15th August 2005

Actisense has extended its popular range of NMEA 0183 Combiners / Multiplexers with the new NDC-3-USB.

USB connectivity is becoming essential in most marine electronic systems, as most PC’s have dropped the standard serial port that used to connect so easily to the NMEA 0183 bus in favour of the new USB standard. Now any PC with a USB connection can easily connect onto an NMEA 0183 network via the NDC-3-USB.

The waterproof unit multiplexes together up to four NMEA data sources, sending the data to RS232, NMEA 0183 and the USB output ports.

A useful 'talk back' feature allows the PC to send data to the NMEA 0183 system from chart-plotting software.

Now you can interface to an NMEA 0183 system without requiring a USB to Serial adapter (USB-1) which, although an option, is not a neat solution.

Now you can connect directly to the NDC-3-USB using the supplied USB cable.

Please check the NDC-3-USB product pages for more information.
