| Interface to NMEA 2000 with a
fully functional bi-directional firewall gateway ... |
The Actisense™ NMEA 2000 to PC Interface
transfers NMEA 2000 messages to and from the NMEA 2000 bus using the Actisense
Comms Dynamic Linked Library (DLL). This ensures that all Actisense certified PC software
can send and receive pure NMEA 2000 data, without any translations getting
in the way and changing the data.
The NGT-1 works in partnership with specialist PC software to allow viewing and/or
sending of data to and from the NMEA 2000 bus. It can also be used with the Actisense
configuration utility to re-configure any Actisense NGW-1 units that are on the
bus - acting as the master remote control node.
The new Actisense NMEA Reader software utility can now be downloaded from this page. This utility allows the NGT-1 user to view and understand (in detail) the NMEA 2000 messages.
The Actisense NGT-1 has not been designed to work directly with standard NMEA
0183 software. If
NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 translation is required, the Actisense NGW-1 has
been designed for this operation.
The NGT-1 is available in two configurations:
- NGT-1-USB: Standard option - full USB (1.1 & 2.0) interface
for bi-directional connection to a PC.
Normally for use with new NMEA 2000 chartplotter software or similar that
has been certified as compatible with the NGT-1.
Full galvanic Opto-isolation
is provided for superior protection of the PC's USB port. Thus full isolation
is maintained between the PC input and output and the NMEA 2000 CAN bus connections.
- NGT-1: Specialist option
- Opto-isolated input, and ISO-Drive output for a direct PC (or equivalent)
bi-directional connection.
The very latest Actisense™ ISO-Drive technology
has been used in the NGT-1 to separate the output from ground. Electrical
spike protection is provided as standard on the NGT-1's input using full galvanic
Opto-isolation to provide superior protection to the PC (or equivalent) serial
port. Thus full isolation is maintained between the PC (or equivalent) input
and output and the NMEA 2000 CAN bus.
Simple to use, the NGT-1 is provided with all required cabling, and also incorporates
screw terminal connectors within the case to allow customer specific wiring to
be used (if required).
