"Actisense is dedicated to supplying the
leisure marine and industrial markets with intelligent sensors and interfaces that
are unrivalled for their quality, features and reliability."
|
Based in Poole, Dorset on the south coast of England,
Active Research Limited has established an enviable world-wide reputation within the
specialist field of marine electronics. This has been achieved by providing an excellent
level of service to our extensive client base, designing and manufacturing prestigious
marine electronic equipment.
The company was formed in January 1997 by Phil Whitehurst, who as a Chartered Electronics
Engineer recognised there was a need for innovative and reliable marine electronic
equipment. As a keen sailor himself, Phil realised the potential within the leisure
marine market was not being met by the existing marine companies, and so set about
designing and manufacturing an entire range of products, which are now unique in their
quality and sophistication in the marine marketplace.
Utilising over 16 years of specialist experience in the design of DSP software and
hardware, in the field of smart sensors and underwater acoustics, Actisense is now
a market leader in manufacturing intelligent marine electronic products.
Our innovative design approach (of real world echo capture and simulation) has enabled
us to hone and perfect our unique depth-sounding algorithm, which now forms the calculating
heart of depth sounding devices available from five major international marine electronic
companies.

| To promote the groundbreaking designs of Active Research Limited,
the "Actisense" brand name was registered, and has now become synonymous
with excellence in the smart sensor and NMEA interconnection product areas. |
